Having seen both, you next best bet is to git yerself to an Australian Pink Floyd Show. They usually come around the USA in the Fall. Here's their tour dates.

Not the real deal, but as close as you'll ever have a hope to get. Me and my boys go whenever they come to motown which they didn't this year. Crying or Very sad

yeah
everyone tells me they get the music pretty right

****************

the Beatles used to always complain about how much they hated that BEATLEMANIA group who used to go around playing THEIR songs
they always said that if they could stop it
they would
but they couldn't

but i always thought
"hell--if YOU haven't performed a song live since 196fukkin6
then you can't bitch because yer fans wanna hear that music live"
and i feel the same way about floyd
that stuff was particularly fun to watch performed live
if there's that market
then someone
WHO CAN
will fill that niche

if the original band was out there
these copy bands wouldn't exist

it seemed kinda weird to hear a band bitch
because their music was so popular
that people would go see a fake band
when the original band refused to tour

i don't think floyd ever took that attitude
i've never heard them complain about these cover/tribute bands

Actually what got my attention with these guys is that Dave hired them to play at his 50th B'Day party. And then he got up and jammed with them for awhile. I thought if it's good enough for Dave, who am I to complain?

And they delivered. Actually I prefer them to any of the PF DVD's I have, because they are like listening to the albums whereas PF always felt to change things because they could.

They do a semblance of the huge stage show, with the circle video, laser light things et al, but probably why they don't come back to Detroit is the venue is small and they can't do their whole thing.

We got teeny weeny and giant huge, very little in between. They aren't big enough for say the Palace (Pistons Arena), Ford Field (Lions) and and Comerica (tigers) are out of the question, Tiger stadium is in too much disrepair. That leaves little places like State Theater were they used to show up, the Grandee is closed, There is Clutch Cargoes' in Pontiac that used to be a catholic church, but I have never been there. Maybe there is something like that laying around somewhere.

AMC??? As a matter of fact no. Mitt's dad ran off to Indiana or someplace with all of them about 50 years or so ago!!! Laughing Laughing

I know Ford's Wixom plant is available and there are GM plants aplenty gathering dust. Alas the old GM Truck and Coach the heart and soul of South Pontiac is gone, and the old medium duty truck plant is now a near empty 1,000,000 square foot office, about 1/3 of it's former assembly plant size.
