Exchanging e-mails with DW yesterday, we were discussing this $750 billion dollar bailout. I got to thinking, which is of course always a dangerous enterprise.

Not only is there constitutional problems (I think, but as a practical matter, it's not like the constitution matters that much anymore) with the government owning private enterprises, you add $750 billion to the existing debt. Then you add the impending Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security collapsing issues to the mix, it really gets scarey.

But even at that, it would be sufferable if we had the prospects of a conservative either in the oval office to hold back the demo tide in congress, or a conservative congress to squash obama's purported trillion dollar tax hike like a bug.

We have neither nor prospects of either.

As this guy says:

If you try to raise income taxes it would start a very vicious cycle where:

1) Taxpayers get less discretionary income after paying higher income taxes and paying for "necessities of life" such as food, energy and medical bills.
2) This in turn means lower economic activity from lower sales to consumers.
3) Lower sales means lower employment for resellers on all levels.

In short, it would be akin to enacting the Smoot-Hawley Act import tariff right at the beginning of the Great Depression--it made everything worse than necessary.

Mac may have the sense not to raise taxes. Congress will definately not. And if Dingy Harry gets 60 votes, God help us all.

I have been wondering how the party in the white house can survive the first term, let alone get a second.

Somehow, someway we got to find a way to get people to understand their government, how it works. Most of all they need to understand WE are the sovereigns, WE control the horizontal, WE control the vertical. NOT the freaking President, NOT the freaking Congress, NOT the freaking Supreme Court, NOT the freaking government.
"You know nothing of hell!"

if the demos get the white house and both houses of congress and make a coupla supreme court justice appointments
this country will make this financial crisis PERMANENT with idiot socialist fantasy programs
and tax hike schemes

the lefties seem to think all money belongs to the government
and they create it

some person has to create it
and all they can think about is TAKING it from that person

when no-one has the ability or incentive to create it any more
it all just becomes an empty house of cards

this is what the left never understands
they look at any one of their VICTIM constituency groups
and just think:
"if the government doesn't give that victim group free money
they are just being mean
why be mean?"

and there is no end to their "kindness"
with your wallet

why should there be?
they think the government owns all money
and can just create it at will

if they just raise taxes more
or print more

and it sure is suspicious how all these guys on government salaries always end up being multimillionaires after a few years Evil or Very Mad
