If you ever wanted to know what life in the USF Navy aboard a carrier is like, I just saw about a 30 minute preview for a PBS show called Carrier.

I felt like I was home.

There will be 10 episodes starting from where you deploy until you get back.

Should be outrageous.

I couldn't believe how many females were aboard, or else they just highlighted the few that were.

i like watching the history channel
and the military channel
they have tons of carrier shows

WWII carriers
Nimitz carriers
one super carrier
named after daddy bush

they even started making one super super carrier once
but then they cancelled it

in WWII they were almost gonna build this huge carrioer made of ice and wood chips

it would have been impossible to sink

This will be a show like you've never seen bro.

You never get what Life is like on a carrier day to day hour to hour.

It'slike a Tom Clancy novel used to be, more detail than anyone who has never been there ought to know or think about.

I still can't get over his details like after about two weeks at sea you run out of fresh veggies, milk etc.

that's how britain got her empire
because they figured out vitamin C
they issued each sailor a lime a day
thus the term limeys
and after a month or two
the spanish sailor's teeth were falling out from scurvy
but they could float around for years and years

Good Show..Been watching it and it realy gets you into it.
The one about landing at night on the heaving deck was spell
binding..what guts it must take.!
I am realy enjoying it and appreciating our troops even more.!
Has any one seen the show AXE MEN?
Thats a good show too. All about loggers and how scarey the job is.
I have a few friends that log..and now I know why the F word is
the one you hear most in a bar when they would come in after weeks
in the woods..pussy was another word you heard too.! Laughing

I watch ALL the carrier shows

(comes from the Celtic word CARPENTUM-(road)-because the Celts built roads out of wood
thus
car
career
carpet
carriage
carrier
carry
etc)

I think I saw a part of that one. Showed from the days of axes only to todays technology that pulls the trees right out of the ground, or something like that? Is that the one? Was getting Grandma Geezers house ready to sell so only caught parts of it.

If axe men are like sailors, in the bar was not the only place that was talked about. Where ever they are, there it is discussed.
