I bought this for myself at Christmas and really enjoy it. I'm not a huge Eagles fan, having only bought The Long Run as the only other Eagles album.
I just like Joe Walsh, always have, and can't forget homeboy Glen Fry who grew up about 10 miles from me.
Although it took me about 5 or 6 times of listening to Rocky Mountain Way before I could begin to stomach it. I only have the REAL version from "The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get". The first time I heard the song was on Midnight Special, around 73 maybe? Like Set The Controls it hooked me on Joe for a life, although I can't say I have everything of his.
Dirty Laundry is another huge favorite for some reason. _________________ "You know nothing of hell!"

Home Boy Glen says Numero Uno was a joke in the special features section somewhere.
Remember Alan King used to have his Annual Last Show or Annual Final Show something like that on TV every fall??
Annual Final Warning, I just googled it. I think there were at least two, possibly 3 of them.
Supposed to be something like that I guess.
50k a seat huh??? I thought Roger was ripping people at $100 for the cheap seats for DSOTM tour last year.
I'm pretty sure if I paid 50K for a seat, and had my view blocked by the chicks dancing up front, I'd have been pretty irritated, no matter how good looking they were.
But them I'm the guy who 30 or so years ago in the early 70's made my first and last trek into a topless bottomless bar in San Francisco. I remember there were at least 10 totally nude girls dancing all over the place, but I can't remember a thing about them, what they looked like or anything other than they existed. I clearly remember paying $10 bucks for 2 of the worst tasting Coke and Rum and waters I have ever had. Not that there was ever a good tasting drink, I only drank because I was an angry young man. _________________ "You know nothing of hell!"

Not a drop in 35 plus years.
Even when I did I didn't like it. Except for Salty Dogs, I did like those (Grapefruit juice with vodka and salt around the rim). Not that I didn't do my share and probably somebody elses, or at least a good part of theirs.
I drank mostly to get drunk and drown my anger my first few years in the Navy and as a teenager. Other than that it was nothing to me.
One has to be his signature piece Rocky Mountain Way, and probably something from the James Gang days,,Funk #49. _________________ "You know nothing of hell!"

everyone i know who was ever in the navy

i saw joe walsh with barnstorm--i think in 1972 or 73--before he was in the eagles--maybe about when the eagles first got on the radio
which was '72
as i remember
take it easy came out summer of '72
what was the name of the james gang song
that had the line
"you just turn yer pretty head and walk away"?
i liked that song
"seems to me"?
or "walk away"?
and "life's been good to me so far"
that's a great song _________________

I understand how you would get that impression. Many are. I took the AA test one time, I had 3 or 4 of the several one needed to be considered an alcoholic.
Me and booze got off on the "wrong" foot. My dad drank like a fish before he got married according to my mom and grandmother, but in my life I think I saw him take two drinks. But one summer when I was a real little geezer, he brought home a 6 pack of miller high life cause he wanted "A" beer. The 5 remaining bottles stayed in the fridge for another year or two. Finally curiosity got the best of me so I broke one out and tried it. It was the most godawful stuff i had ever put into my mouth.
I never could drink beer just to drink beer.
Seems to me, it's Seems to me. Oddly it doesn't appear in any of the usual lyric places.
But lo and behold the DVD cover has it as Walk Away. _________________ "You know nothing of hell!"

drinking is a tradition in the navy
and when yer young
and wanna fit in
and stuck on a ship
or watching an empty runway on guam all night
you drink
yeah-the song fades out with those words
so i guess that makes sense
i woulda guessed: "seems to be"
anyway
great song
great band
great guitarist _________________
